WSASEA Student Employment Events

WSASEA sponsors a variety of events each year to educate, support, and recognize student employment administrators and student employees.  The WSASEA Conference, Fall Town Meeting, and Essentials Training provide educational and professional development opportunities for administrators.

WSASEA SPRING CONFERENCE
Each year WSASEA offers a Spring Conference usually held at the beautiful Rainbow Lodge in North Bend, WA. This conference is a fantastic learning opportunity, and you won't find a better value for the money. The entire conference registration, next year's dues, meals, and lodging are only $250!

Student Employment Essentials (SEE) Training
These nationally developed one day training courses provide a comprehensive overview of student employment issues, including how to train supervisors, recruit and orient student employees, and comply with immigration and employment laws.  For more information on SEE training, go to: http://www.wasea.org/seetraining.html

Each participant attending one or both trainings will receive a training manual and boxed lunch for each day.

FALL TOWN MEETING
Fall Town Meeting each year, usually held at the beautiful Mary Grupe Center at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA. This great networking and learning opportunity usually lasts from 9-3 and features an informative presentation, HECB Update, and Roundtable discussion. It also includes lunch! You won't want to miss it!

Recognition Events:

WSASEA Student Employee of the Year is selected by the Executive Board. Administrators or supervisors at member institutions can nominate outstanding student employees

WSASEA Student Employment Administrator of the Year is selected from current members by the WSASEA Executive Board annually, with the presentation of the award occurring at the WSASEA Conference.

National Student Employment Week, held the second full week (Sunday through Saturday) in April each year, recognizes the contributions of student employees to the communities and institutions in which they work. WSASEA has developed some great recognition ideas to use in your campus celebration.  Each year WSASEA requests and distributes the Governor's proclamation of April as "Student Employment Month" in Washington state to WSASEA members. Click on the left menu Headline item to print the proclamation and proudly display it at your school!
